The Heartland Inn
After riding for 13 Hours from Bham to IC..the Hampton Inn bumped us from our room.
We made the proper reservations, but housing was really tight there still because of the flood. So, we stayed at the Heartland Inn for the first night. Incidentally, this was the hotel's
first night open since before flood. None of the ground level rooms were available because
they was still under renovation.

Signs of the flood...

The Campus

The Old Capitol Building on the Pentacrest
The 'Cambus' System
University of Iowa provides FREE transporation to students and community members. There's 5 main lines...and so far, I've been lost of 4:5. Best lesson learned--don't hop on the first bus you see, actually take time to read where it's going.

Packing in Birmingham

Greetings All,

My name is Eguardo Monique Sanchez and I'm from Birmingham, Alabama. In a very short time I will leave this lilly pad and head north to Iowa City, Iowa. You're invited to come with and keep me company during my travels there. If you like, feel free to stay on for the rest of the journey. I'm not quite sure what we have on the schedule, but sometimes the most fun is had when there's no plans.
